Model 426 Ocean Ready
VME Pressure Vessel

V E R V I E W
The PSI Model 426 VME Pressure
Vessel provides an off-the-shelf solution to housing a VME-based
telemetry system in an ocean ready, water-tight enclosure. This
VME Pressure Vessel has been used in numerous Navy measurement
systems, housing numerous VME Subsystems in applications such
as array data acquisition and telemetry. The Pressure Vessel houses
a standard 20-slot 6Ux160mm VME Card Cage and backplane mounted
in a rugged Aluminum chassis. The Aluminum chassis is built as
a modular unit prior to assembly in the pressure vessel so systems
integration and testing can be performed in a laboratory.
The Model 426 can be configured
for a number of applications. The pressure vessel is designed
for installation of a variety of mount and lift points. It has
been configured for use with a surface flotation collar, a line
array frame, or with slides for mounting inside a larger structure.

426 Pressure Vessel Example Applications
|
|
This frame illustrated above
and left was built around a 426 Pressure Vessel used in a vertical
line array. The framework is designed to transfer the mechanical
load from an umbilical cable to the array. It is constructed
of 6061-T6 Aluminum with welded joints, hard coat anodized and
painted for corrosion protection. This package is offered as
an option with the pressure vessel.

The structure shown, employed
four (4) of the model 426 Pressure Vessels. The configuration
was designed with Delrin slides mounted on each pressure vessel
frame for easy installation and removal from the frame. |
